The Future of Fashion

With the end of yet another fantastic fashion runway season I can’t help wonder what the future of fashion holds.

The internet allows consumers and fashion lovers all over the world to view these shows instantly. With everyone including myself blogging and tweeting, will these looks and trends feel out of date by the time they are in the shops? Can we realistically expect consumers to wait 6 months to purchase these designs?

I know from my perspective as a fashion stylist, viewing the clothes many months ahead of them arriving in the shops has always ruined the experience. After styling or writing about a look so far in advance I lose interest and feel the look is old once available. Is this what’s now going to happen to the consumer? With everything so instant will the clothes shown on the runway need to be available immediately instead of 6 months later? Will the momentum be lost?
