FASHIONABLE CONFESSIONS: Georgia May Jagger

When your dad is Mick Jagger and your mom is Jerry Hall would you be anything but cool? As their youngest daughter, she has clearly inherited her mom’s model good looks and her dad’s Rock'n'Roll coolness. However don’t be fooled, Georgia May Jagger might have shot to fame because of her parents but she’s carved out her own place in the fashion world. At 23, this fashionable Londoner has already reached supermodel status by gracing the covers of most major publications including Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Pop, Harper’s Bazaar and i-D. As a fashion week regular she's walked for Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, Isabel Marant, Marc Jacobs and Giles. She’s also fronted major campaigns from Mulberry and Miu Miu to H&M and Rimmel. Known for her rock-inspired-sex-kitten look she's often spotted hanging out or working with her model besties Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse –see the April cover of British Vogue. It doesn't stop there with her diversifying into designing (Hudson jeans) plus curating a 'Minnie Style' exhibition for September's London Fashion week. I posed some questions to the recently named Global Brand Ambassador for Sunglass Hut and found out more about her musical and fashion tastes.

WHAT’S YOUR FASHION ADDICTION?
Sunglasses are like shoes, it’s a guilty pleasure accessory that you can never have too many of!

DO YOU HAVE A FAV PAIR?
My favorite sunglasses would be Ray-Ban Clubmasters. They can be casual when paired with jean shorts and a t-shirt or glam with a cocktail dress. I’m really into the mirrored lenses that are more rock &roll and their foldable options, which are great to travel with.

LAST SONG YOU DOWNLOADED?
I can’t recall the last song but I listen to a lot of old music most of the time such as Jimmy Hendrix, Prince and James Brown.

WHO’S YOUR STYLE ICON?
My mum is my style icon and my sister Lizzy always inspires me too!

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST FASHION FAUX PAS?
I tend to not like anything overly girly and sparkly. A piece here and there works but not a full on outfit.

TELL US ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?
If I wasn’t a model, I would be a photographer. If I wasn’t a photographer, I wanted to be a veterinarian.

FASHION CONFESSIONS: LOUISE ROE TV Host and Fashion Journalist

You might have seen her doing red carpet interviews for ‘Access Hollywood’ or maybe it was hosting NBC’s competition show, ‘Fashion Star’ or it could’ve been on MTVs ‘The City’ or ‘Plain Jane’. This British born LA transport, Louise Roe, has certainly made a name for herself stateside. Along with her numerous TV work she also contributes to style magazines (People StyleWatch and Luxdeco Interiors magazine) and has a style blog, Front Roe, which she’s just turned into her first book by the same name. I caught up with Louise at Westfield Old Orchard’s Fash Bash to discuss London, LA and of course fashion.
TV host and fashion journalist, Louise Roe, dishes LA, London and Fashion at the Westfiield Old Orchasrd Fash Bash
WHAT’S YOUR FASHION ADDICTION?
Shoes, I’m a shoe girl and it’s funny because I was always just into heels, I mean I’m 5’9” I didn’t’ care if they made me 6’4” but now I love flats as well. I’m just addicted to shoes I’ve got a problem!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN LA?
The weather hands down. It gets a bad rap as a city but I’ve met some of the kindest most motivated, interesting people there as well. You know there are great people who live there, as well as not so wonderful.

WHAT’S WAS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LIVING IN LONDON?
You’ve lived there so you know that it’s so like NY in a very different sense. There is an energy and soul to that city that you can not replace or copy anywhere. It’s like alive and I think that’s to do with the history and culture and also the people.

WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT LONDON?
The British sense of humor, it’s so awesome. I miss that sense of humor being in LA.

YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH GROWING UP?
Joey McIntyre from New Kids on The Block

WHO’S THE NICEST STAR ON THE RED CARPET?
That’s a great question. Most people actually. Heidi Klum is a pleasure to speak to. George Clooney is so polite and so clever. Michael Douglas remembered my name after I’d only interviewed him once! I think the bigger the star the more manners, in my experience. They are like the real deal.

THE CELEBRITY YOUR ALWAYS MOST EXCITED TO SEE ON THE RED CARPET?
The ones that take the risks like Diane Kruger. It’s not necessarily like the biggest star, it’s the one who always does something interesting. That being said when you see J Lo in real life. She is jaw droppingly flawless and stunning so she’s always amazing to see in the flesh.

WHO WOULD YOU LOVE TO INTERVIEW THAT YOU HAVEN’T YET?
I get really excited about the people behind the scenes like the designers and to be really honest most of them I have interviewed but if I could bring him back, Yves Saint Laurent would be amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to interview Giorgio Armani, Karl Largerfeld and Valentino. Those people actually intrigue me and inspire me even more than the talent in front of the camera.

WHAT’S THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LONDON AND LA FASHION?
The weather actually changes things because you’re looking for brighter colors and lighter weight maxi dresses or cute little cut off shorts, it’s very casual there [LA]. So I often wonder if London would be like that if it had the weather and it probably would change it but there’s definitely a more grungy vibe in London. You know chipped nail varnish, a biker jacket and flat boots, the girls are a lot more edgy but for me I’m not really that girl, I prefer the LA vibe.

ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS?
I got bitten on the foot by a shark in the Maldives.

LAST TIME YOU WERE DRUNK?
Probably with my friend Greg at the weekend, we went to a party with friends visiting from London, it was lots of fun.

BEAUTY CONFESSIONS: SAM AND NIC Make-up Artists, Beauty Bloggers and Vloggers

Samantha and Nicola Chapman are the British duo behind beauty blog and YouTube channel phenomenon Pixiwoo. The sisters both started their careers as make-up artists working Paris and Milan fashion week as well as having editorials published in Harper’s Bazaar, Tatler, Brides and Elle –to name just a few. However, they became internet sensations after creating professional make-up tutorials to help women achieve amazing looks with ease. Now with over 1 million subscribers it wasn’t long before beauty brands came calling –including Chicago’s own, Paris Presents. Together they developed a quality cruelty-free yet affordable make-up brush line called 'Real Techniques'. It’s quickly become the number one best selling brushes in the UK and fourth in the US. I caught up with the sisters at the launch of their second line, 'Bold Metals Collection'.

NIC: My fashion addiction is definitely shoes. They always look good no matter how you feel.
Interviewing Sam & Nic Chapman of beauty brand Pixiwoo

YOUR CELEBRITY CRUSH GROWING UP?
SAM: Mostly Kurt Cobain and also Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street. Oh...and sometimes Axl Rose ☺
NIC: My male crushes were Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze from Point Break, may he rest in peace. I also have a really embarrassing one that was Hulk Hogan (holds head in shame), I don't know why I just loved him. My female crush was Paula Abdul and Madonna.

WHO’S YOUR BEAUTY ICON?
SAM: Kate Moss. I think she is a timeless beauty with unique style.
NIC: My mother.

BIGGEST MAKE-UP FAUX PAS?
SAM: Trying to achieve the nude look with brown lipstick, eyeshadow and blush.
NIC: All through school I wore the wrong color foundation of started with one 5 shades to light and moved to one 10 shades to orange.
BEST PRODUCT OR TIP FOR TACKLING DARK CIRCLES?
SAM: Cold tea bags work really well. The caffeine encourages circulation in the area.
NIC: I think to really cover dark circles well you need to use 2 concealers – one that's a little coverage with a warm tone and the other the exact color of your skin with a stronger coverage that is just applied to the very dark areas of the eye.
Fashion Junkie, Jessica Moazami interviewing Sam & Nic from Pixiwoo
YOU FEEL MOST BEAUTIFUL WHEN?
SAM: My kids tell me I look pretty.
NIC: I have a bit of a holiday tan glow.

WHICH REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSH IS YOUR FAVORITE? AND WHY?
SAM: Right now I'm obsessed with the Bold Metals 100 arched powder brush but I change my mind all the time.
NIC: This changes all the time but at the moment it’s our new sculpting brush. I love it for foundation and blusher and contour.

FAVORITE VACATION DESTINATION?
SAM: The Maldives although I've never been there on holiday. I went there on a 3 week photo shoot once though. It's pretty idyllic.
NIC: Anywhere in the world with my husband and kids but for a short city break Rome and for a long relaxing holiday the Maldives.

Real Techniques and Bold Metals Collection are available at realtechniques.com, Ulta, Walgreens and Kohl’s.
