There Pippa goes again off to work looking fabulous. I’m glad to see her in a bold fuchsia color – it really suits her. Pippa is wearing a very cute Sonia by Sonia Rykiel dress. Difficult to believe I know but it’s a dress with a knitted top and a pleated skirt bottom. If you want this dress I unfortunately can’t find it in this berry color anywhere but I know Selfridges & Co have it in grey. She is also carrying her favorite Modalu London bag now known on their website as ‘The Pippa’. BTW I also love her new, side sweep hairstyle.
If you love this outfit but hate the price tag or if it’s sold out here’s how to…GET THE LOOK LEFT TO RIGHT: ‘Tippi’ Sweater, $69.50, J.Crew. Black blazer with wide lapels, $129, Zara. ‘The Pippa’ $267, Modalu London. ‘Rachella’ suede boots, currently on sale $118 (originally $169), Nine West. ‘Polly Push Lock’ gloves, $220, Mulberry. HOW TO WEAR: High-Waisted Jeans
It all started with Alexander McQueen and his 1997’s bumster – a new design and cut of trousers that changed everything in fashion for the last decade. However the reign of the low-rise trousers has slowly been coming to an end with the return of the high-waist.
Don’t be alarmed this doesn’t mean in any way that “mom jeans” are in fashion.
It might be a hard move for you if you are addicted to your low-waisted jeans but give it a chance. The cut is a fresh looking silhouette that hasn’t been seen for ages. It will accentuate your waist while elongating your leg, making you look taller and thinner, BONUS!
How to wear this look? Wide leg, boot cut or skinnies they all work high-waisted it’s really down to your preference of style. However you must be careful when selecting both your top and shoes. You want to tuck in the top or you’ll lose the shape, which is key to this look. Also a chunkier shoe works better with a wide leg or boot cut, nothing too delicate – having said that you can wear flats with skinnies. Trust me once you’ve put on a pair you wont look back!
GET THE LOOK... CLOCKWISE: Silk ‘Bookmark’ blouse, $110, Madewell. ‘Melina’ suede platform heel, $69.99, Bakers. ‘Kristen’ jeans, $80, Topshop. English leather satchel, $19 (£74), Cambridge Satchel.
CLOCKWISE: Annabelle silk shirt, $220, Equipment available net-a-port.com. White gold green amethyst and diamond ring, currently on sale $1,200 (originally $2,400) Effy available at Lord & Taylor. Single breasted silk gentlemen’s style blazer, on sale $435 (originally $719), 3.1 Phillip Lim available at MyTheresa. ‘Classic Q Francesca’ leather shopper, $428, Marc by Marc Jacobs available at endless. Wide leg micro stripe trousers, $625, M Missoni available at My Wardrobe. Floppy ‘heather oatmeal’ $38, Tarnish available at Nordstrom.
